The Role
Genetics is a complex and rapidly evolving field. When deployed optimally, it holds great promise for better outcomes at lower cost, yet it also has the potential to drive up costs with limited benefits. Our customers need partners who can work collaboratively with them to unlock the potential of genetics. The Director, Genetics Strategy and Solutions will enable Quest to become a trusted preferred partner in the genetics space with our clients by effectively communicating the advantages of partnering with Quest Advanced Diagnostics, working with both clinical and non-clinical decision makers, to find solutions and uncover opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Establish trusted relationships with decision makers within select customers in women’s health, oncology, and other related specialties with measurable goals around growth.
- Establish and own relationships with decision makers and Genetic Counselors in select hospitals, health systems, and large group practices.
- Work with Commercial leaders to identify key opportunities to grow genetic testing business.
- Proactively identify immediate genetics opportunities, and coordinate selling strategy with the commercial team.
- Support YoY revenue growth.
- Support commercial teams at customer presentations with genetics expertise to increase close rate.
- Deliver presentations to a wide variety of internal and external audiences related to genetic testing.
- Resource to the Health Plan team and select large regional Health Plans.
- Serve as the liaison to cross functional teams to enable a cohesive, impactful approach with clients.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Training to support the Quest Diagnostics commercial organization in demonstrating the value of our entire portfolio (Genetic Counselors, Precision Pathways, Pack Health, etc.).
- Serve as the liaison between Quest and local Health Plan Medical Directors to influence coverage policies and prior authorization requirements.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred, as is CGC certification.
- Knowledge of genetic testing with preference in prenatal and oncology specialties.
- In-depth understanding and experience in genomic testing. Experience as MSL or GSL preferred. Clinical experience strongly preferred.5+ years of experience working with a Commercial Sales team and/or selling genetic testing preferred.
- Ability to think strategically and outstanding customer service standards that to drive sales growth.
- Highly skilled at delivering presentations to various audiences, such as Genetic Counselors, clinicians, professional organizations, etc.
- Highly skilled at cross collaboration between functions and departments
- Self-starter with a superior work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to resolutely meet deadlines.
- The ability to travel an estimated 25-50% is required.
- While a remote-based position covering the Southwest (TX, AZ, NM, LA, MS, OK), candidates must be based in Houston, Dallas or Austin metropolitan areas.
